Fighting Mongooses

It has been an action packed few days for all of us but do not worry it would appear we have come out the other side, with only minor changes

I had the great honor and privilege of being asked to take the helm and duely accepeted, i am hoping the the change will be painless ;)

To this end, there have been a few changes implemented that i hope are acceptable to the masses

The guild now consists of a council of 4, made up of Shell, Shizuku, Artulla and Totemlydrunk, who will advise me on anything that comes to our attention - therefore hopefully taking away the helplessness that most of us felt, with the 1 man 1 vote situation we ended up with, with Smeg.

We also have our main core of officers, who are there to help anybody in the guild and lets not forget people outside of it - i will also be looking towards them to contribute with their ideas and effort into moving us forward.

I would like to hear from all of you about his move and also for people to put themselves forward for roles in the guild ie raidleader (Foul hint hint), pvpleader, trainleader etc

I will leave it to myself & the council to control the bank, with a possible promotion to Snail to the council as our Honorary Secretary/Accountant/Bank Manager

Shell's edit:After a quick meeting this morning it's been decided pretty unanimously that Fighting Mongooses is worth saving, name, tabard and all. There are a few more details in the meeting thread here and anyone who couldn't make it or who didn't hear about any of this until now should feel free to show their support or derision for the decision over there.

One person cannot singlehandedly ruin our guild. Long live Fighting Mongooses!

Hi all.

Fighting Mongooses have moved to Ravencrest (EU).

As GM I've noticed an increased difficulty in putting raids together.  Even despite the usual lack of sign-ups from our own guild we've always been able to pull people in from outside - which was never a problem.

With Diablo 3 on the horizon and being 7 months into this expansion activity on Emerald Dream has dwindled.  People have been finding other outlets for their gaming needs.  And I've been scraping the barrel to find our much needed PUGs.

I've never been a fan of broad statements such as "the game is dead" or "the server is dying" so let me put it in these terms;  On Emerald Dream there are 5 8/8HC guilds compared to Ravencrest's 32.  At any given time there are far more people online on Ravencrest than Emerald Dream.

The fact of the matter is for the guild to thrive we need this move. We need a bigger pool of players to fill our numbers. Sure the guild can survive, but we've seen the ugly side of waiting around and hoping things get better.

I will not stand around flogging a dead horse for the sake of not rocking the boat.

For what it's worth, there are no personal motives for wanting to change server - my decision is based on what would happen if I left the guild, and how much Ravencrest can bring to the guild in proportion to how much we'd lose by moving.

And for those of you who need reminding, the guild was going to be disbanded in January.  There is not anyone who I felt did enough to stop that situation happening, and thus there is not anyone I feel comfortable handing the guild to.

I know this is sudden and many of you are up in arms, but I guarantee if you make the move - even if you decide not to stay with us, you will not regret it.  It's absolutely bustling over here.

Remember the good old days when the gooses would pack up their tents and go off camping and do a bit of good old guildie bonding?  Well, how about we sort of revive this but on a smaller, shorter scale?  I for one, hate camping, having said that Ive never done it but the idea doesnt make me feel particuarly warm and fuzzy inside!  So, how about we meet up for a day?  If you are interested but dont quite know how it would be possible, register your interest by commenting below.  Tell me where you live and tell me of any holidays/commitments that would mean you would be unable to make a particular day.  I'll pin our locations on a map and try find somewhere central/equidistant to us all.  Dates, I'm thinking definitely a weekend day, bank holiday Sundays would be good maybe.

My idea would be to meet up somewhere, like a nice big park, bring some food, bring some drink and bring some music.  Bring the kids/dogs/boyfriends/girlfriends etc and lets have a really nice mongoose day :)

For those of you who dont live in the UK, it would be really nice if you could be included.  I have a spare room you could have for the weekend and we are 10 mins away from an airport.  No excuses!!
